Install Zukitwo theme on Ubuntu 12.04 Precise/Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric/10.04 Lucid/Linux Mint (Gtk3/2 + Gnome Shell) via PPA

There are two Zukitwo theme versions: One is Simple Zukitwo and other is Zukitwo Dark, Both theme Include same Gnome Shell theme.

Important note by Author: This theme is designed around Gnome 3.4 and the 1.0.2 version of the Unico engine. Any later versions included with any development releases may break the theme.

2nd: Move Minimize, Maximize, Close Button to Right

Install Faience Gnome Shell Theme + Icons on Ubuntu 12.04/11.10/Linux Mint/Fedora

1: Faience Theme for Gnome Shell:


To install Faience theme on gnome shell open Terminal (Press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy the following commands in the Terminal:






2: Faience Icons:


Faience is a Work In Progress that include a Gnome-Shell theme and an icon theme based on Faenza.
This theme is in early development stage:
- Currently, it focusses essentially on Gnome 3 / Gnome-Shell. An embryonic support for Unity (with Radiance GTK theme) is provided since 0.2 trough Faience-Claire icon theme.
- Lots of icons are missing, thus it heavily depends on Faenza. Be sure to install it.

To install Faience Icon theme open Terminal (Press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy the following commands in the Terminal:





Now enter the following command to install Gnome Tweak Tool:



Now open Tweak tool and change theme+icons, That's it

Install Malys Revolt2 Theme for Ubuntu 12.04/11.10 (Unity/Gnome Classic/GTK3/GTK2)

Installation of Themes:
  • Type in Terminal: "sudo nautilus"
  • For Gnome Shell extract to "/usr/share/gnome-shell/theme" folder
  • For Unity Theme extract to "/usr/share/theme"
  • Extract the archive and rename gnome-shell to theme
  • Copy this folder to /usr/share/gnome-shell/
  • Restart Gnome Shell by hitting Alt+F2, then type r and press enter
  • You can also use Gnome Tweak Tool to install directly from zip file
You can also install theme selector extension and use gnome tweak tool to switch themes. Follow the instructions below (for Ubuntu 11.10):
  • Run the following command: sudo apt-get install git-core
  • Install Gnome Tweak Tool by running following command: sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool
  • Download Gnome Shell extensions by running following command: git clone git://git.gnome.org/gnome-shell-extensions
  • Now access the directory from terminal by running following command: cd gnome-shell-extensions/
  • Finally run this command to install the extension: ./autogen.sh --prefix=$HOME/.local --enable-extensions="user-theme"
  • Logout, come back and use Gnome Tweak Tool to switch themes.

Malys Revolt2 Theme:


► GTK2 - you must first install latest gtk2-engine-pixbuf
► GTK3 - & latest gtk3-engines-unico

sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines-pixbuf
sudo apt-get install gtk3-engines-unico

► Tips for UNITY

1.) Run in terminal:
sudo apt-get install gconf-editor

2.) Run in terminal:
a.) sudo gconf-editor
b.) gconf-editor

Browse to apps > metacity > general, look for “button_layout” on the right panel.

Change the value in the “button_layout”
from close,minimize,maximize:

to menu:minimize,maximize,close and press the Enter key.

3.) restart
You are done, and you will see that now buttons are at right.
