CobiBird theme is designed to work in most of the Linux desktops including Gnome, Unity, Xfce, Lxde, Cinnamon, and Mate. It was based on Greybird theme with dark menus for a while but since version 0.8.2 the creator changed almost everything (from menubar items, menu adjustment, color selection fix, improves insensitive menus, to fixed menu separators) in this theme and now it is not based on Greybird Gtk. The initial version was released way back in 2013 and recently a new version of CobiBird has been released to support Gtk 3.22. We have added it to our PPA and it is now available for Ubuntu 17.10/17.04/16.04/14.04/Linux Mint 18/17. If you find any kind of bug or problem with this theme then report it to creator and it will get fixed in the next update.

Paper theme and icons are designed for Linux desktop environment, this suite is inspired by Material design created by Sam Hewitt, icons are based around the use of bold colors and simple geometric shapes. Each icon has been meticulously designed for pixel-perfect viewing at any size. Both theme and icons are lightweight and well-managed doesn't eat system resources, the theme is modern and icons with most flat design and minimal use of shadows for depth. Paper has been developed primarily with modern GTK3 (GNOME-based) desktop environments in mind, legacy-toolkit and GTK2 environments will not provide an ideal experience, as much of the visual design relies on modern GTK3+ widgets. This suite is released under the terms the GNU General Public License GPL v3.
It is compatible with most of the desktop environments such as: Gnome, Unity, Cinnamon, Xfce, and so on. Current this suite is in active development that means you can contribute to the project by any means either reporting bugs to contributing your code, for more details contact developers.

Violet-comeback theme is the GTK2/GTK3 counterpart to the Qt5/KDE color scheme "Violet Comeback". It was mainly designed to make GTK applications match with KDE Violet color scheme, but it is also compatible with Gnome, Unity, Xfce, Cinnamon, Mate and so on. As creator mentioned this theme is based on Numix and generated with oomox. Since this theme is in active development some issues exist in the GTK3 version: there are no borders at all on some windows and no shadow, which make the look a bit too flat. The windows cannot be handled properly. If you find any other bug in the theme then report it and hopefully it will get fixed.

Since many of us heard that Ubuntu is making Gnome desktop its default desktop again, many creators got motivation to make eyecandy stuff again for Ubuntu. Zuktiwo and Zukitre themes are not new in the market and quite famous among users who are using Linux from sometime, the initial release of this pack was way back in 2011. These themes give light and grayish look to the desktop, the basic aim of these themes to enhance the look of GTK and Gnome-Shell just like many other great Gtk themes. Both themes works perfectly under all resolutions bigger screens and with smaller screens. These themes supports latest GTK 3.22/3.20/3.18 and Gnome Shell 3.24/3.22/3.18. Zukitre and Zukitwo themes supports GTK 3 and GTK 2 based desktop environments such as Gnome Shell, Gnome Classic, Gnome Fallback, Cinnamon, Mate, XFCE, Budgie, Pantheon, etc.

It is mostly flat with some shadows, highlights and gradients for some depth and uses a colorful palette with nice contrasts, and it is compatible with almost every desktop environments such as Gnome, Unity, KDE, Xfce, Cinnamon, Mate and so on. Gnome desktop is being accepted again by Ubuntu community after the announcement of Unity-8 is going to be buried. I am not going to talk about this new again since we already did and this post is about theme. T4G-V2 theme is created by a guy from gnome-look named "paulxfce", this theme is heavily modified version of popular Arc theme but with transparency items. This theme is specifically targeting Gnome desktop and do not expect it to work on other desktops, if you are using Gnome 3.20 and up versions then you are lucky to have it on your desktop. It offers bigger header-bars, window-frameless, transparent elements (all gnome-3 window backgrounds have transparency), graphical elements redone (new option/check-buttons; switch-buttons), added shadows beneath the header-bars.
It is available in three variants for GTK, as well as for Gnome Shell, you can choose whatever you feel is fit for your desktop; Black-Dark: The black-colored windows with dark sidebar in the file-manager, Black-Light: The black-colored windows with light sidebar in the file-manager, Blue-Light: The dark-blue colored windows with light sidebar in the file-manager. Since this theme is in active development if you encounter any issues with the latest version of the theme then report it to developer and hopefully it will get fixed in the next update If you are using other distribution you can directly download theme from its page and install it manually. Obsidian icons used in the following screenshots. You can use Gnome-tweak-tool to change themes/icons.

There are many themes available which are flat design and target people who prefer flat themes for their desktop. This theme Flat-Plat-Aurora is based on Flat-Plat which is material-design flat theme and it was released in 2015. It is compatible with GTK 3.22+ and Gnome Shell 3.22/3.24 and available for Ubuntu 16.10 Yakkety and 17.04 Zesty. It support almost every desktop such as Unity, Gnome Shell, Xfce, Cinnamon, Mate and so on but not compatible with KDE. If you encounter any issues with the latest version of the theme 3.20/3.22 then report it to developer and hopefully it will get fixed in the next update If you are using other distribution you can directly download theme from its page and install it manually. Pop Suite icons used in the following screenshots. You can use Unity Tweak Tool, Gnome-tweak-tool to change icons.

Aurora Next:

Aurora-Next theme isn't new but it's initial release was back in early 2015 and it looked great at that time and looks even more better, there are three variants in this suite and support almost every desktop such as Unity, Gnome Shell, Xfce, Cinnamon, Mate and so on but not compatible with KDE. You can choose from Blue, Green and Red variant from this suite as per your requirements. There are three Gnome Shell themes and Cinnamon theme with every variant, the supported versions of GTK are 3.20 and up. Numix-White icons used in the following screenshots. You can use Unity Tweak ToolGnome-tweak-tool to change icons.
There aren't much theme development going on for Ubuntu 16.10 Yakkety but there are still people who are doing their jobs behind the scene for you to make your desktop as fancy as possible. Since in Ubuntu 16.10 changed a lot and it takes a lot of time to rewrite the theme from scratch. Dark Aurora theme isn't dark but it looks great and it is available for Gnome Shell, Unity, Cinnamon, Xfce and compatible also with other desktops. Dark Aurora theme is kind of grayish color theme and it's easy on eyes as developer mentioned on the theme page. There are four variants in this theme and we've added all versions to PPA and supports GTK 3.12/3.14/3.16/3.20/3.22 available for Ubuntu 17.04/16.10/16.04/14.04/Linux Mint 18/17 and Gnome Shell theme versions 3.14/3.16/3.20/3.22/3.24 available. If you encounter any issues with the latest version of the theme 3.20/3.22 then report it to developer and hopefully it will get fixed in the next update If you are using other distribution you can directly download theme from its page and install it manually. You can use Unity Tweak ToolGnome-tweak-tool to change themes/icons.
As I mentioned in my previous posts that lots theme development going on now but Linux community and a company is not even behind called "System76". Well they designed theme and icons for their own computers that run Ubuntu but good news is that it is free and comes under GPL-V2 license that means anyone can copy, share or remake their theme suite.
It is very well designed theme and works almost with every desktop environment such as Gnome, Unity, Cinnamon, Mate, Xfce, Lxde and openbox but not available for KDE desktop which is kind of sad as well. The Pop icon theme and Pop Gtk theme fit perfect together and make desktop elegant. This theme suite is in active development, so you should expect updates as well but there is no way to report bugs unless you use System76 laptop which runs their own spin with this theme, so we heavily rely on System76 theme designer to fix bugs for us and on System76 laptop user. It is kind of flat looking and material design theme, if you are not fond of material design then you may won't like it but still it is free and we shouldn't complain.
This suite is available in deb packages but I added them to our PPA so you can install it easily and get updates without searching for it again. System76 has its own PPA which only offers this theme and icons for 17.04 but using our PPA you can install it in Ubuntu 17.04/16.10/16.04/Linux Mint 18 and related Ubuntu derivatives.

You may have heard of the news about the Unity 8 development has stopped and Ubuntu is switching back to Gnome. If you have switched back to Gnome on your current desktop or planning to then here is good news for you. United Gnome can make your desktop feel like Unity but not exactly same. The idea behind this theme is a while back there was a concept what Ubuntu would look like in the future but that never happened. Then Aaron stepped in and tried to give concept a real look on the desktop using Gnome Shell desktop.
United Gnome theme uses Flat-plat theme as a base, it is intended to use on Gnome 3.24 but it is also compatible with Gnome 3.22 and 3.20 versions. This theme offers three GTK variants United(white version), United Dark(complete dark) and United Darker(White with dark titles); and five gnome shell variants allows you to choose what fits your needs.
Beside theme you can install these extensions to make desktop look more like Unity. Dash to dock: Enable panel mode and position it on the left; Dynamic Panel Transparency: The non-dark variant comes with a semi-transparent panel. Square icons used in the following screenshots.

It is glad to see that theme development is much faster now than past. Albatross theme is forked from Shimmer project team, they stopped the development long ago. If you want to keep your desktop simple, clean and elegant then for sure this theme is for you, it is specially targeting Gnome desktop and may work with Xfce. Currently this theme is compatible with Gtk 3.24+/3.22/3.20. If you intend to use this theme in the Xfce desktop then you must use xfwm4 from "Greybird/Adwaita" since that is not packed with this theme. Since this theme is in active development, if you encounter any bug or problem with this theme then report it to get it fixed. Obsidian-1 icons used in the following screenshot.
