Ubuntu team has announced the final version of Ubuntu 13.10, code name "Saucy Salamander", is ready to install: "The Ubuntu team is pleased to announce the release of Ubuntu 13.10 Desktop, Server, Cloud and Core products." Ubuntu 13.10 introduces the first release of Ubuntu for phones and Ubuntu Core for the new 64-bit ARM systems (the "arm64" architecture, also known as AArch64 or ARMv8), and improved AppArmor confinement. In addition to these flagship features there are also major updates throughout. "Together with existing builds of Ubuntu for PCs and servers, with this milestone, Ubuntu images for phones are reached to stable version and available to install. We will test this soon than we can recommended to casual users to install Ubuntu Touch on their phones or not but if you want to try by yourself go ahead, You can find instructions for installing the latest stable build of Ubuntu for phones here."
Maintenance updates will be provided for Ubuntu 13.10 for 9 months, through July 2014.
