  • Bookmarks in Navigator can be named using any character that is accepted in HTML anchor names. Specifically, LibreOffice now accepts period (.) and colon (:).
  • Improved "Replace dashes" autocorrect feature: double dashes between numbers are replaced with en dash (–) instead of em dash (—).
  • Simplified input of special symbols by default autocorrect patterns: Trademark, copyright, registered symbols, Arrows, Subscript/superscript characters, and so on.
  • Middle Autocorrect wildcard patterns: Autocorrect wildcard patterns (text.* and .*text) introduced in 4.2.x, now possible to add .*text.* like patterns.
  • Formula Engine: Added AGGREGATE spreadsheet function for Excel interoperability.
  • The right-click context menu that appear for managing sheets now has icons for sheet operations.
  • When we have a table in impress, have modified a cell style and then add a new row or column it now inherits the style of the current row/column for the new one instead of using default values.
  • It is now possible to save an Impress/Draw file read-only and require a password to modify it.
  • Draw now uses the paper size specified in page formatting with printing.
  • The View menu was reorganized to better unify its items similar to Writer and Calc.
  • Now Math supports the basic 16 HTML colors.
  • The newly added colors can be inserted from the Elements docked bar.
  • Draw can now import Adobe PageMaker files (v. 6-7), via libpagemaker.

  • Writer now has the ability to access the Paste Special dialog via the context menu, reaching feature parity with Calc.
  • Font, Font size and Text alignment formatting options have been removed from the context menu: according to statistics were widely unused and their removal reduces visual clutter.
  • Writer now has an option to change the currently selected image to another graphic via the context menu, reaching feature parity with Impress and Draw.
  • New browser for Firefox themes with search and preview.
  • Images are now scaled proportionally by default in Calc and Impress/Draw as they were already in Writer.
  • New and improved icons have been added to the Tango, Sifr, and Oxygen icon themes.

Ultra-Flat icon theme is flat and beautiful based on Flattr icons. This icon set can work with all kind of themes dark/light/or any other color. There are two variants of this theme Blue and Orange, all icons are same in both variants except folders, so you can choose what fits with your theme. The good thing is that it contain icons for all Linux desktop environments such as Unity, Gnome, Cinnamon, Mate, KDE (KDE desktop is now supported) and others; KDE desktop is not supported yet, it is mentioned on icons page "Kde users : I noticed round icons look ugly under kde. At this time I don't know why but I will try to find a fix. Unfortunately, the theme doesn't support kde, sorry". KDE Connect allows your device to communicate between your Linux and Android/Blackberry devices. Using KDE Connect you can receive notifications of your phone directly to your Linux desktop, or use KDE Connect as remote control for your Linux desktop. KDE Connect uses secure communication protocol in order to provide these services over the network, and also allows developers to create plugins for KDE Connect on top of it. Right now there are KDE Connect clients available for Android and Blackberry devices, and soon it will be available for iPhone.

Smplayer is a free multimedia player released for Linux and MS Windows under the GPL License. It uses the award-winning MPlayer as playback engine which is capable of playing most video and audio formats (avi, mkv, wmv, mp4, mpeg... see list). Variety is an open-source wallpaper changer designed for Linux operating system, it comes with great features and easy to use. There are many wallpaper manager applications available which offers many features but Variety has its own way to get things done. It can display wallpapers from local sources or lots of various online sources, allows user to change wallpaper on a regular interval, and provides easy ways to separate the great images from the junk.
There are many to-do applications available for Linux which offers basic/advance functionality.
